Agroforestry
Agroforestry systems. I have contributed to the establishment of numerous agroforestry experimental plots, adapting agroforestry models (MIAF, SAF, etc.) to the mountains of eastern Mexico. My work focused on key questions such as: What is the optimal density of trees and shrubs within croplands? Which native species do local communities prefer? What are the best combinations of native species and crops?
Capacity building. I have led theoretical and practical workshops and written technical guides to enhance the capacity of agricultural technicians and local communities in establishing and managing agroforestry systems. Visit the Publications page to explore my work on this topic.
