Capacity Building
Community brigades. Successful and lasting conservation projects rely on empowering local communities. I have led multiple workshops on seed collection, ecological monitoring, restoration, and the management of agroforestry systems to strengthen local knowledge and skills.
Students. So far, I have been lucky enough to mentor and supervise the theses of three great undergrad students. Eduardo (Population dynamics of an endangered conifer), Hector (Monitoring soil erosion in different land production systems) and Brenda (Establishment of a community network of organic and agroforestry modules) have successfully completed their studies in recent years.
All the activities featured here were developed during my years at Pronatura Veracruz, always in collaboration with a fantastic team—because conservation is all about teamwork!
